QuizVault ("we", "our", "us") operates the quizvault.app website. This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal data when you use our service.
Information We Collect
- Email address, provided when you create an account, used for authentication only
- Friendship challenges, your five selected answers, an optional public nickname, and private reply scores with optional nicknames. A private access key stays in your browser; only its hash is stored on our server. Anyone using that browser can access your private replies. Challenges expire after your choice of 7, 30 or 90 days, and the next daily cleanup removes their questions and replies. You can delete them sooner from My stuff. Clearing browser data loses your private access.
- Quiz data, scores, quiz completions, and progress stored to provide XP, streaks, and leaderboards
- Usage data, anonymous analytics (page views, quiz starts/completions) via Google Analytics
- Cookies, session cookie for authentication, consent preference cookie

Data Storage
Your data is stored securely using industry-standard practices. Quiz progress is stored locally in your browser and synced to our database when you create an account. We use Neon PostgreSQL for database storage.
Third-Party Services
- Google Analytics, for anonymous usage analytics (with Consent Mode v2)
- Google AdSense, for displaying ads (only after cookie consent)
- Microsoft Clarity, for anonymous session analytics
- Resend, for sending authentication emails
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request deletion of your account and data
- Opt out of analytics tracking via cookie consent
- Export your quiz data
Cookies
We use essential cookies for authentication. Analytics and advertising cookies are only loaded after you accept them via our cookie consent banner. You can change your cookie preferences at any time.
Children's Privacy
Our service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13.
