About This Quiz
Most left-brain or right-brain quizzes ask whether you prefer maths or art, and you know which answer is which before you pick it. This one never asks. It asks what you do with a recipe that says "season to taste", a bus that has stopped showing up on the sign, a shelf that is very slightly not level. Those small moments sort out four ways of meeting a problem: checking it, feeling it, splitting the difference, or going round the side. You get one of four, written as a read on you rather than a neuroscience verdict. Twelve questions, about three minutes.

Every answer still leads to a result, you just cannot see which one while you pick.
is being left-brained or right-brained real?▼
Not in the way the quiz name suggests. The two hemispheres do specialise in some tasks: language leans left in most people and some kinds of attention lean right. But a 2013 University of Utah study published in PLOS ONE looked at brain scans from 1,011 people and found no evidence that individuals use one whole side more than the other. Treat your result as a read on your habits, not on your anatomy.
